When I chose Sea Lounge over SRK...
To begin with I had a choice as to-do I wanna be happy or sad, do I want be fearless or frightened? and of course do I want to sit at the Sea Lounge of the Taj Mahal Palace or go meet SRK and his bronzed-up wife at their "we are still very much in the limelight" presscon. So I made them, I made the choices and I made them real good.
I decided to be happy irrespective of what life has in store and I decided to be fearless of one and all. All 23 years of my life I have been fearing about one thing or another, some of us could have the same fears, I mean even strangers could get on like a house on fire with "What are your fears?" talk. Rushing around the city for work leaves very little time to make choices and above all debate and reflect over
your pick. But it's worth a try. One very interesting choice is "Do I love the person I think I'm in love with or is it just an infatuation?" One can never tell. Give yourself a hypothetical situation and you would know what I'm saying. So I chose, I chose to stop cribbing and thinking over my DOA (Dead on arrival) love life which hasn't kick started ever...trust me loving those men on TV is much wise choice.
It saves you heartburn, pain and break. So I'm back to loving my men in Hollywood, i never stopped loving them barring a few so called "real distractions".
Another important thing I have learnt in this month is that if someone tells you that you are not good at something then take it with a pinch of salt, coz the chances are that you are in fact extraordinary at that thing and the person is just jealous with a capital 'J'. In simple words, 'Don't get bogged down with criticism and always believe in yourself'. It was a month that cleared a lot of thoughts and after-thoughts in my mind. As August ended it made me wiser, stronger and yes definitely a believer.
Ah yes! as for the Sea lounge experience, it was the best, facing the Arabian sea looking at the raindrop drizzle out of the window and sipping my hot Cappucino life seemed to be the perfect place to live in.
All said and done, a wiser me is ready for my B'day month-
Welcome Septembre....Muah!!!
July just flew by...
So to begin with I lost my diamond earring. It was a precious piece of object something that i had bought for myself. Empathising statements like "Oh, that's okay it's gone you will get more diamonds in life" or "What has happened has happened" render only temporary solace. What matters is that I lost it and lost it for no fault of mine or of anybody else. it wasn't robbed and nor was i careless-wore it for more than a year without losing it even once before. My best guess is that it just went down the drain and it's lost forever and I have to forget about it, which I have. A lot of other things not worthy of detailing on the blog also happened this month, all i can say is that they drained me emotionally. But yeah it's okay I don't wanna sound like a sad drama queen a.ka. Meena Kumari.
Here's the fun part of July, one my best friends turned 24 that's the second one of us to turn that loveable age- when you are in middle of everything not too old not too young. You even turn a decision-maker of your life- marriage, job, career, further studies, etc etc suddenly you are the boss of your own life and the world is watching you intently with surrepitious glances. All one needs to do is stay focused
and have a good strategy to live ones life. My roadmap to matrimony gets hilarious by the day. Truns out men in my community are either married, engaged, dating or living in the US. Four new options were noted down this Sunday, I don't know what's happening further. I don't ask until they tellme, so yeah that's pretty much set.
Marriage is a subjective and personal issue it will happen when it has to happen and with the person you are meant to be with. You can have a hundred crushes and supposed "I'm in Love moments" but your life partner will be the last man you meet. Sadly, these days marriage comes with an expiry date. You don't know when it begins and when it shall end. According to me, it's nobody's fault, the GenY is just conditioned to be like that full of ego. We are so self-obssessed, self-absorbed in our own little world that sharing, compromising and understanding seem like ancient traditions not to be practiced any more. I might sound cynical almost like I don't believe in this institution as people who speak the truth are always taken as negative souls. But that's not true! Sharing your life with someone special, someone who will be a witness to your existence long after your parents and your immediate family is the most beautiful thing invented by humans.
All said and done...July has just flown away taking and giving me watever it had to. Now I'm getting ready for the August Rush!!!
Adios...

One month later….
So June began with a dear friends wedding….the second last of the host of weddings I was invited to in the first half of the year. Anywho…it was a dear friend and like always I was the “jumpy jack of matrimony”—always happy to see people tie the knot. But then hey that’s me live with it!!!
Well that went gorgeously well. But what followed was interesting. The pangs of matrimony where are being felt at my home too. And to begin with I got clicked…well not the compatibility clicked just the “This is hamari beti click” in simpler words—Went to a photo studio and got a picture of mine clicked to be circulated to all eligible bachelors in my community.
I was obviously not up to this kind of circus but then there’s no way you can convince parents to not make you do this. My convincing powers have been used up in discussions of ‘Why are you home late, beyond your deadline time?’ Anywho the photo session went well…not too much drama (guess the photographer sensed my fuming anger through his lenses).
Going further down matrimony road, the picture and my birth-chart were shared with the family of an eligible bachelor’s family. The charts didn’t match and hence—Sweet Moses saved Sweet Pra from the “Wedding Trap”. Somewhat my heart didn’t say, “this is it”.
What followed after this is the one question I can’t answer, “What kind of boy you want to marry?” My tongue just gets stuck—for a person who makes a living out of putting in some 1000 plus words on a word docu, I’m simply lost. I mean seriously what am I supposed to say? May be I will just wait for my “this is it” feeling to happen.
The best day of June—Saturday, 19th June: It was a girl’s day out with my best friend—Mommy dear. The whole day, we were at Phoenix from morning 11.30am to 6pm in the evening. Shopping, massage, food and movies a complete fun package of indulgence is what we added to our pack of memories together
June also made me learn lot of lessons. For starters, Mumbaikars have a real bad attitude and we all are just incorrigible souls inhabiting a dirty city. Price rises of all kinds, Water crisis and suicides well they just make life a living hell. Women have no toilet manners; Men are shallow bastards—but let’s not blame them, even we won’t choose Drew carey over Tom cruise.
Well, June’s gone and July has arrived, let’s see what the Julius Ceaser month has in store?? ATB to me and all of you…

3 weeks later...a funny moment and I'm still sixteen
As most of you may ask Hows the new job? any guys wink wink? Well....job's good and I'm adapting to a whole new genre of journalism, hope i do my best. I'm in an all girl team...and as for the male quotient, i have always been unlucky in that regards...so there are only five men in my office all happily married and worthy of calling uncle.
My quest for the Hors d'oeuvre: Weddings could be fun for those not getting married and are there just to view the function and bless but for those who are even remotely participating in the ceremony it could get stress fully funny. So here's the funny part. At my aunt's daughter's wedding after welcoming the baraat in to the wedding hall, I was in charge of formulating the appetizers and juices which i did very efficiently. Just when i was almost settled and thought it was time for me to taste the appetizers I couldn't get hold of one. In no time i was on a wild goose chase(wearing a saree and heels) of eating at least one appetizer and sipping on refreshments.
But i just couldn't!!! My first raod block was the aunty from some town who wanted to take a good look at me, next i was called near the mandap to perform some ritual, next i met a cousin who wanted to chat about journalism, then my nani called out to me so that she could introduce me to the "appropriate people present at the wedding".
All these distractions just left me hungry and parched...so i just sat myself next to my mom who was thankfully free and sitting near the mandap. Just then a
plate full of appetizers was placed right in front of me...my happiness had no bounds and i lifted my hand to pick up the tasty chinese preparation, even before putting it into my mouth i could taste it, but my triumph was short lived. Just 2 sec away from picking up my piece, i heard my name was being called out. It was time to get the bride out "Mahurat ka samay nikla jaa raha tha" so i had to go. And of course the kanya was got out of the room...to get married.
So did i finally get to eat? Oh yeah after two hours!!!!!
YOU ARE SIXTEEN NAA?? I don't want to boast but i have been getting this a lot these days, "So you are in which standard?" "U work? what crap u look
like you are in college? One more fun part at the wedding was this... as now i'm offically the single eligible cousin left to be hitched I tend to hang out more with my younger cousins.
So my 13-year old family friends daughter met me at the wedding after four years. All through the three days of ceremonies we were moving around together. It was at the reception that she asked me isn't it great to be a teenager? so what r u doin in vacations? and i looked at her with raised eyebrows. She quizzically looked at me and asked what?
I said i'm working, i have no vacations. She was shocked to hear the words i just said to her and said, "IMPOSSIBLE, YOU ARE SIXTEEN NAA??"
Me and my cousins shared a laughin out loud session over her exasperation. Poor kid, thought she had said something really odd and got nervous. Anywho I was finally able to convince her that I'm actually well...23-years-old.
Feels good to know that you are young when you are still younger. Anyways that's the update on my life. I'm quite exhausted but have one more wedding to go next week
my cousin aunt is getting married. When's yours u may ask? Well we don't want a child marriage do we? After all I'm sixteen naa???

If I had two lives, I would be rich…
Multiplicity is the story of a man who is caught between family and work. He has too much work that can’t be ignored and on the other side there are the demands of his wife and kids to be with them on special days and family timeout.
Aren’t we all like that?—gripped in the demands (both professional and personal). One does not necessarily have to be married to have responsibilities; a single person in today’s world is also muddled in this major demand-supply puzzle.
Our boss wants us to deliver the best, with extra effort, extra time and overt dedication. Our parents want us to be present at almost all social functions, gathering, dinners and parties. Let’s not forget the friends who themselves are so busy yet make it a point to make plans to meet and catch up.
You can’t deny all or any of the above, as the first demand is from the person who helps you earn your daily bread and butter, second is from the couple who brought you in this world and mean the world to you and third is from the oxygen cylinders you need to breathe when you are running out of fresh air.
These are just external demands. What about the most important demands apart from all of these? Your own me time demands?? I want to shop for myself, read a book, catch up a movie at home, relax on my bed, take no calls and many others??
Hence I feel if I had two lives I would be rich. Life would be equally divided between the two versions, with the original one doing whatever she wanted letting the avatar take on the boring tasks. No stress just work. Sorting out things would be just a matter of discussion and not a war at work or home.
Any-hoo seems like I got carried away a bit more than needed, but that’s what happens when there’s too much to do and too little time—You dream of an avatar to share your burden. It wouldn’t hurt would it???

Pati, Patni aur "hum sab"…
One week ago it was in the news that Tharoor was reportedly going to tie the knot with Pushkar, but a week later the plot has thickened in to a rather weird string of events leading to the IPL controversy and when the marriage is happening anybody’s guess..
Okay, I’m not trying to flaunt my news sense about all this nonsense, but trying to put forth a theory that came to my mind while watching these two couples being the apple of every voyeur’s eye in the country.
In the 21st century couples can no longer reach the cocoon of their happily ever after…without “Hum sab” being a part of their lives. This is true even with us—the non-celebrities who hardly have a “colourful life”.
A few of my cousins and friends are slated to say their “I do” this year and their problem is guess who?? “Hum sab”. Hum sab is my theory of people including parents (who have their dreams and aspirations for the wedding), the seemingly welcoming yet stubborn in-laws, nosy uncles, bubbly aunties and of course emotional attyacharis—the grandparents. If you are an Indian and getting married you will be marrying all of the above besides your partner.
At a celebrity wedding the Hum sab are all of us—the media and the audience (who help soar the TRPs). As our society is steadily moving closer towards concepts like nuclear family, live-in relationships, single parent and same-sex relationships, the one thing we are losing out on is Privacy…
The irony is that earlier, in the days when people used to live with 20 others under the same roof, privacy was a coveted entity worshipped by all. A wedding was a private affair and only those who want to bless the couple were invited. Today it’s more of a show-off business trying hard to be in synch with bollywood.
But seems like this is how it works or rather is the play of the game called—Shaadi. I guess the only thing that matters amidst this babel of hum sub is that the Pati-Patni duo (both celebrity and common) don’t lose their sanity and successfully tread through the aisle to their happily ever after…
God bless the Pati-Patni…

Wanted...Is it time for a "real-life action hero"?
Even though most of these are recent releases that did not hit the right spot at the Box-Office the one that i saw on Saturday certainly led me to ponder over some serious issues.
So this weekend i happened to watch Wanted starring our very own Sallu Bhai (Salman Khan) and the little known and appreciated Ayesha Takia. Now, stop raising your eyebrows and making faces, i have been a Sallu bhai fan for ages now, in fact i fell in love with him as a kid while he was popular as a lover boy in films like Maine Pyar kiya, Sajan, Love, Hum Aapke hain kaun (have watched this one over 20 times and still counting) and many more...let's just say the characters he played made me understand what the jazz romance is all about...(i know none of it works in real life, it didn't for me).
But this blog isn't about my love for Sallu. While watching Wanted, his character in the film made me realise one thing-the need for a "real-life action hero". Sallu plays Raghuveer Shekhawat, an undercover police officer cleansing the society infested with criminals. How does he do this?? well, by pretending to be one of them. He's the underdog that captures the gangsters and corrupt officials right at their roots and justice is done at gunpoint.
In the 23 years of my god-blessed life, I personally didn't have to fight any battles with crime or corruption and I pray it stays that way. But I have been reading and observing the crucial problems that our society faces. Why is there so much suffering around us? What and who is doing it wrong that our country is plagued with so many problems? Who created these criminals (including the white-collared one), these goondas who roam about our streets threathening to sabotage our free movement?
They say to question the system one has to be a part of it and then make amends, the middle and upper-middle classes are criticised for passing comments in the comfort of their homes but then what are we to do? We have been "gifted" with the RTI which is dying its slow death, so now are we to step out with guns in our backpacks to solve our problems? Is blood on our hand the right way to a serene normal society? or is there no decent solution to this and we will all be born, live our life and die our deaths?
These are just a few among the army of questions which i'm sure many of you carry on your mind everyday while going about your routine life. Some of us have the good life-good education, package job, dining and shining at malls, clubs, et all. However, beneath the good life in which we pretend to enjoy our lives, lies a time-bomb of problems that can go blast at any time if nothing's done soon.
It was exciting to watch Sallu mindlessly bash-up the bad guys and at the end wining the war against the evil on celluloid. But the one question i'm mulling "Is it time for a "real-life action hero" to rescue us? may be not mindless killing but a decent enough alternative to bring justice to all and of course somebody who says, "Maine ek bar commitment kar di toh main apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta".
Cheers and hopes for a better tomorrow!!!

Hit me, Hate me…u can’t judge me
So here’s what I have been doing—watching saas-bahu (using it because it’s a generic term) and other melodramatic TV series. A more shocking way to put this would be that “I have gotten addicted to the saas-bahu sagas”. Yeah sure roll your eyes, nod in disagreement but it has happened.
Not that I have nothing good to do in life, I’m sill employed, I still very much a voracious reader, this is just a new addition to my free-time. It’s mostly Saturday afternoons that I watch them and I even have a favorite—“Maan ki awaj Pratigya”. One may wonder why this one, lemme clear out one thing this isn’t your usual saas-bahu melodrama nor is it a serial-killer.
The characters in this series are real and the scenes too. Pratigya is an educated no-nonsense kind of girl who marries a wealthy yet uneducated boy. It’s not a love marriage but an arranged one. She’s not the one who sheds tears at the drop of the hat but is bold enough not to consummate her marriage as she doesn’t love the guy (who btw is madly in love with her and stands by her all the time), not change her name just because the in-laws demand her to do so.
The other shows on my EQ are Balika Vadhu, Saat Phere and Uttaran. I’m sure most of you lost me at the end of the first paragraph and those who diligently continued reading for the love of me will recommend some therapy or alternative EQ options.
Honestly, no offence, but I don’t care…I suddenly believe that life has reached a crazy point where a girl who couldn’t bear to look at those overly embellished women; who’s life would be all about what’s happening on Sex and the City, Desperate Housewives, F.R.I.E.N.D.S and all other on Star World, Movies and HBO has suddenly taken a 360 degree turn to her catharsis.
Why, Who, what, how I reached here I don’t know, I wasn’t even aware until yesterday when it was like somebody woke me from my sleep and said “Hello…Watcha doin?” there was no answer from my side just a scream that said OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Love is…
A cushion resting the soul.
Love is the error only humans make.
It’s an illusion that never fades.
Love is the beautiful pain that will always ache
An emotion that freezes tears
Love is the sympathy of a lover to the loved
It can’t be begged, borrowed, stolen,
only earned by the heart until we rest in peace.

When you came along…
Waiting to be solved
When you came along, life was a journey
With many paths less traveled
When you came along, life was waiting to
Make its mistakes
When you came along, life didn’t know
What was right or wrong
When you came along, life found someone special…
to love and hate
When you came along, I looked around to see you
Only to find that you were never there to hold my hand

When you said goodbye…
To tell you the things I never said
When you said goodbye, I was broken
Thinking that something special was lost
When you said goodbye, it didn’t matter to you
But it did to me…
When you said goodbye, I reminisced
About the days gone by…
When you said goodbye, I wanted to make time stop,
To create more memories...
When you said goodbye, I thought it was a phase
Little did I knew that it was the end of a beautiful pain
Alas, it’s time to say goodbye to you now,
As we have parted never to meet again.
Goodbye my friend, goodbye my love.

The power of “Free your mind and your ass will follow…”
Firstly these are original thoughts and secondly they are developed straight from the heart. The prelude to these lines is gotta be something deeper that the person who framed it had to go through in his/ her life.
Sometimes it’s also spontaneous feelings translated into words just for fun. The line you see in the headline of this blog is something that caught my attention while I was surfing through the pictures of a friend who recently went off to Germany.
This was a sprayed graffiti on what looked like a garbage can placed on the backside of a cathedral. According to me this a unique sentence that intends to draw attention of the non-believers popularly known as the atheist?
In other words, what I’m seeing here is the power of language. By power I don’t mean that all atheists would start praying but I can’t get over the fun element that it conveys.
It’s amazing how we humans can play with words. We can, rhyme them using all kinds of figures of speech which get shaped as poems, we use complicated words twist our thoughts and narrate stories or create articles for people to read. This is one genius conundrum that we won’t be able to solve. I don’t think any scientist can reach that part of the human brain which is able to secrete such creative expertise.
Finally all I can say is that wordplay is one talent humans can certainly beat any other species at.
Hail Humans!!!
PS: Just when I was writing this blog, a friend of my mine realized that the graffiti line could be inspired from the 90s song “Free your mind and the rest will follow…” by a band called En Vogue.

At Siddhivinayak…where the lord blesses all
As I sat with my family members with joint hands for the pooja, I was dazzled to observe the mass of people gathered to seek the divine blessings of Ganapati Bappa. However, it wasn’t surprising to see the crowd pushing and hushing to reach right to the front and pray to the lord, who is said to make your wishes come true.
It was overwhelming to see the exodus of devotees holding baskets of flower, pedas and lot of other offerings. Even I prayed, I always pray to Ganapati Bappa, he’s my favorite God :) I think he's always listening to us whether you visit him personally or not.
Just talk to him looking up in the air sitting on your couch and he will grant you your wish of course only if you deserve to own the wish you have made.
All I can say is Ganapati Bappa Morya!!!

Of goodbyes and reunion...a new life begins
I have believed that do what you want to, yearn for what you need, but at the end of it life has it's own plans that will materialise for better or for worse; whether you like it or not it's bound to happen. Friends, it has happened to me, yet again. Just as I was waiting to begin something new, life's mysterious plans have worked its wonders , albeit this time for good.
After ten months of tackling hard news and battling my blood-sucking bosses, i have been reunited with DNA Academy, the education supplement with which i began my full-time working career.
The reunion was as sudden as my separation from the supplement ten months ago. It all happened so fast that i just couldn't get enough time to even think and also put my feelings into words on this blog.
Two weeks ago a dear friend and colleague from Academy got a wonderful opportunity and hence she decided to say goodbye to all of us (she's gone to Germany with her husband), hence they brought me back to help our other senior colleague.
Although, I was aware of her going to Germany sooner or later, frankly, i had never thought that they would allow me to get back to where i believe I have always belonged professionally.
However, I'm glad to have said goodbye to the webdesk (that's where i was all of the ten months), as i don't see my self sitting at a desk and correcting copies of reporters from around the world. In fact I have always wanted to be the person who goes around the world and puts her experience in to words.
So here it is, i began working with Academy from Monday onwards. It's like starting a new life in the same old place, but i guess i have rejoined with the same excitement, the similar enthusiasm which i had joined the organisation over three years ago as a 20 year-old starry eyed aspiring journalist.
To end let me leave you with this thought provoking line, from the movie Ratatouille, which stands true in my case-
"The most predictable thing about life is its unpredictability."
Cheers to all!!!

Women's day...when every woman will make history
I didn't do anything special today, just wished my mother, my female colleagues and friends. My office gave all the women employees gifts to mark the day which by the way was in its centenary year.
So coming to the point of this blog, it's almost the end of today (10.30pm as I'm writing this) and yet another women's day will come to an end. As i flip through the newspaper and scan the channels all of which are ending their "Today's Special Shows for women” it hits me one need not need a day but would rather require an entire lifetime to celebrate womanhood.
It’s good to celebrate a day and make us feel good about ourselves but how many of us actually felt so? Or rather feel so in our everyday lives?
I’m not a feminist, for me equality with men, or women’s rights does not mean behaving condescendingly with the opposite sex. According to me, equality or rights are achieved when a woman seats across a man in an office, at home or any other place, looks into his eye has a healthy conversation makes her point, either agree with his and come to a logical solution or has the luxury to agree to disagree with him on any given issue.
For me a liberated woman is the one, who makes her own decisions after weighing the pros and cons, and not draw conclusions out of what other people think, especially men.
History would have been created in the Parliament today if the Women’s Reservation Bill would have been passed, unfortunately, it was deferred till tomorrow. I wonder, if it will ever see the light of the day, considering that we have been fighting for it for the past 25 years. I guess this would have just added insult to injury, as our political rights became just another casualty of illogical politics.
However, Kathryn Bigelow, with her Best Director Oscar award managed to put a smile on our faces. She made history by becoming the first woman to do so and was nominated in the same category along side her husband James Cameroon. It this was her victory and our pride.
I dream of a day, when every woman will make history, not by winning awards or surpassing men in various professions (we have already done that), but when each of them are emotionally liberated not dependent on men, getting our “respect” in the real sense of the word. That will be a good day to celebrate Womanhood.
To us :)

Holi, I will never miss you again...
In fact, i distinctly remember one Holi, years ago when i was a kid, i locked my self in the bathroom for the whole day. My family and friends knocked on the door outside convincing me thatthey wont' put colour, but it was too hard to believe them so i didn't step out until lunch, when everybody had gone home. Sounds funny?? obviously i was 10-years-old then.
Any who so this year was different, among other things, I actually had fun with colours and water this Holi!!! i hadn't decided to play Holi until the previous evening when my newly-married sister and her husband invited me over to their place to celebrate the festival with my other cousins. I obviously didn't agree, and was the first one to back out, i outright rejectetd the invitation. But had to eventually give in after everybody persuaded and forced me to go and Enjoy!!
So on Monday morning dressed in my old clothes (specially for Holi) i went to her place. When i reached most of them had already started playingseeing them i almost turnaround to get back into the auto and zoom off to the station. Something inside me, asked me to let go of that "I wanna run away" feeling and boldly entered the premises.
Well, what happened next was just FUN!! My cousins put colour on me, and a bucket full of water was emptied over me. The next thing i knew was that i was putting colour on people and pouring water on them. For the next two hours i was like a child in Disneyland! Of-course all the play was accompanied with music including the evergreen Holi song Rang Barse.... Bhajjiyas, Thandayi and jalebi added thier grace to the occasion.
On my way back i realised that if i had turned down this invitation, what a mistake it would have been? I even felt that for all these years just by being scared of colours i was barring my self of that one day of the year from experienceing the reverly that India celebrates.
It's a festival that brings out the child in you, parents, uncles, aunties and even grandparents make the most of this festival and live upto the popular adage - Bura na mano holi hai!!!
Hence, i have decided that from now on i will play Holi every year.
Hope you all had a very very Happy Holi!! just like me :)

Two good gestures...
Of-course these are the people who have always been there for me too...but as they say it, "i have been for them more than just once". It is generally believed that if you are a person who helps others, then u are in the danger of being taken for granted. Well it's true, i have helped unconditionally and have been taken for granted.
This blog, however, is not about those few losers who forgot me. But this one is dedicated to two good gestures i received from two unsuspecting people. They are not strangers, but people i am associated with through work.
First is my night drop driver Mangesh from work. The other day, I was on my way to work, walking in the hot afternoon, after a futile attempt to find a cab. Mangesh was passing by in the office car, he immediately stopped the car after seeing me and dropped me right below the office building, thus saving me a headache.
I was touched by his gesture as the only interaction i have had with him earlier was to ask him "which car will drop me to Dahisar" and i have never even helped him. This happened on a Monday afternoon thus kick-starting a happy day for me.
The next person was Merissa Serrao, a PR executive, traveling in the train with me. Merissa and i met a year back when she introduced me to an Australian vice chancellor, which turned out to be a successful interview followed by a lunch at the Hilton Towers. I didn't meet Merissa after tha day.
However, the other day we both boarded the same train (9:04am Churchgate fast from Borivali) we ended up standing right next to each other right inside the terrifyingly crowded compartment. After exchanging a few pleasentries, we resumed to reading our individual books.
At Jogeshwari a woman sitting on the window seat got up to alight from the train. Merissa was right in front of her and could have easily sat down. But guess what?? she offered me to take that seat instead. I was flumoxed by this gesture, all those of you who travel by those damn crowded trains will certainly relate to my emotions.
I obviously requested her to seat but she insisted, so i had to give in. As i sat down looking out of the window with the breeze kissing my face, a sublte smile of satisfaction, humilty and thankfulness spread across my face.
Even though these might seem to be miniscule acts of favour to some, Mangesh and Merissa's good gestures are deeply etched in my mind as, in this big bad world that we live in, very few people would stop in traffic and offer you a ride or give away that most sort after window seat in a cramped ladies compartment.
Thank you once again Mangesh and Merissa :)

A wedding overdose…it's a pandemic!!
Seriously 2010 has Weddings galore! It has begun with my best and favorite cousins' wedding. To top this I received an invitation for a college classmates wedding, followed by an engagement announcement of two other classmates (this time a girl and a boy with each other).
To further scare me the building in which I live was lit up with wedding fineries as my neighbor's son was all set to walk the aisle. All said and done yesterday night my mother broke the news of yet other cousin sisters' wedding to me.
So now I have back to back weddings (May 15th and May16th) to attend. My wedding soiree doesn't end here; a close friend is tying the knot on June 8th.
While I'm glad that those around me are getting their "Happily ever after", it's crazy to come to terms with the fact that the my friends and cousins with whom I cherished the most memorable and wonderful moments of my life are settling down in what I personally call the "Responsibility Zone".
I'm not against weddings or marriage; the only thing that irritates me is the "Next is you" tag that people put on single girls attending the functions. I already got my share of it at my sister's wedding, with people "inquiring about me" (whatever the hell that means).
To make things worse my neighbor over enthusiastically suggested a match for me, which according to her is a" Suitable match" (trust me I never had a sleepover with her for her to know that).
Of-course I want to get married but come on give me a break…let's enjoy the ceremonies of the couple in question, it's their moment focus on them, rather then just hitching the singles.
Anyways, as I gear-up for the wedding pandemic, you guys just pray that I'm not stricken by the bug…well not sooner but certainly later.

A love less ordinary...
Well I'm sure most of us have had music in our heads when we have come across somebody really cute. I personally confess to have sang this song like a million times since age 12 i think (obviously in my head not out loud duh!!!).
Anyways the point of writing this blog is to share something about a special someone. Yes I'm in love and it's a beautiful feeling :). Of-course it's not your usual Happily ever after kind of loves it's far from reaching there.
Well it was beautiful until i sang all the possible songs (again not out loud) on the Love planet and then came back to the global warming stricken planet Earth, were reality is hotter than the summer.
It all began a year and a half ago when, I accidentally saw him while sitting in a friends' car on a rainy evening. Bugged with traffic I was doodling on the car window sitting on the backseat, hoping to reach home soon.
All my other friends were talking to their respective boyfriends over the phone making plans. Everything was perfect until, I saw him right outside the window, waiting to cross the road, for two whole minutes i didn't say anything and then i said out loud to my friends "People cute guy alert". They all nodded in agreement and then we zoomed off.
End of story??? Hahhaha, even I thought so. Until of course I got professionally linked to my cute stranger. Surprised? Shocked? Well yeah the first fifteen minutes even I believed I was hallucinating-looking for some romantic relief from my stressful work.
But it wasn't so… He was right there. Anyways to cut the crap and get to the point, we obviously became friendly, then friends and then a bit flirtatious. Sharing music, long phone and online chats and funny smses played their role in bringing us closer.
But like I said it was all beautiful until I came back to planet Earth remember?
So the problem is simple-he's from Mars and I'm from Venus. Confused? I love him and he loves everybody else…
I know it has no future, I know it was just one of those things people do for fun (which is what he was doing). But I got a little too attracted to the word 'Serious' and dropped my self into the "Love Zone".
To conclude, I'm glad I met him, coz I have heard that everyone falls in love and does crazy things for that person-this was my love and my crazy. Even thought I will always be in love with him, it's time for me to move on.
PS: I know by the end of this I'm gonna receive a whole lot of brickbats, criticisms and apprehensive comments on my blog. Hey but I wanted to get this outta my system, so I just did 'What I wanted to do?'
PPS: If he reads this he doesn't need to panic. It's just what I think was the right thing to do for my self.

Wedding, Vacation and back...
Good part is that I have been enjoying all these three months, well dancing!!! YES. I have learnt it. What started with just practice for my sister's Sangeet ceremony turned out to be a skill that i have instilled in me innately. I don't dance with two left feet.
I can groove well and the moves were appreciated by one and all. It was a completely different experience all us cousin gathering to dance for our now Happily Married cousin :)
I don't remember having much fun with them as a kid, or may be it's been too long since I have been in that zone of my life. Any who, the point is everything went well, as per plan, very important in a house full of perfectionists otherwise a war would have commenced.
Wishing luck and all the blessings to my cousin sister and her husband, I went to my native place—Goa!!!. Five days of peace, harmony and yummy fish later, I'm now back to Mumbai.
I'm back in the grind and frankly i'm not Lovin' it. I love my work, I just don't like the process.
But i guess for now i will have to suffer it a lil more until I find something that will awake the enthusiasm in me until then... Adios!!
